Unknotting = getting out of the Well

You’ve just released your old story.
In doing so, you chose to rescue your younger self from self-abandonment, confinement, criticism, punishment.

You felt your emotion, and you twisted yourself up in a button about it.
But you stayed — and that is brave.

This is the unravelling of the pain.
Every knot, and every button, no matter how insignificant or ugly it may feel,
is a symbol of your courage.

What if feeling that emotion is the key?
What if it’s the way to loosen the knot and free the button?

In order to climb out of the Well?

The button you take home is a reminder of this moment. Of the feeling.
Of the (first?) step toward warmth for yourself.

"Hey! I know you. You've been into the Well.

You carried that gnarly old story on your shoulders..."

You dared to look, to feel, to share.
You descended, deep into the Well —
that place where shadows whisper like ill-fitting puzzle pieces
and old versions of yourself still wait for you to arrive.

There, in the half-light,
you saw the child again:
your inner child, not gone but quieted.
Small. Fragile. Unshakably brave.

And still, you went on.
Not running, not fleeing, but present.
And I walked with you, my lantern held high, a small circle of light just bright enough to reveal the next step.

Until you finally stepped into the Pantry: that unexpected place where clarity lives, where warmth clings to the shelves like jarred summer light,
where you breathe and realise:
I am no longer alone in the dark.

That is why you received your button.
Not as a burden to toss away, but as a talisman. A quiet reminder that every thread once pulled tight around your heart now forms part of your wisdom.
Wisdom that does not come from outside — but has been waiting within you all along, patient as a star stitched into a nightblanket.

And now:
you carry the child.
And the child carries you.

What to do now?

You have three choices:

Keep the button as a token of your courage
Hide the button for someone else to find
Pass the button on to someone who needs to be seen

In every case,
leave the little card attached to the button.
It is your story that continues to travel.

Share your story

Maybe you want to dive even deeper.
Maybe there’s still a story or an emotion inside you that wants to be seen.

Send it to us. Henri will always respond.

What could you share?
For example:

"I’m sad that my parents are divorced. Sometimes I don’t know what to do with all these feelings,
and I want to hide."

Or tell your life story. That’s what Henri loves the most.

You may belong here if you wish

If you email us your story, along with a photo of yourself and your button, and we are allowed to share it (anonymously) in the Well, we will immortalize you as one of the first inhabitants of the Pantry.

All kinds of woodland creatures live in the Pantry. Their stories have already been written. But there are many more stories to tell. And many more creatures to draw.

We will transform you into a woodland creature of the Pantry,
hand-drawn and co-written by us, just like Henri himself.
